Pitch Wars #PimpMyBio

I actually don't know what to write. What do you write about yourself? It's like looking in a mirror and repeatedly..... What's that story about Narcissus?

So other than the inevitable stats.... Which will make their way into this. My life isn't all that interesting. I don't get out much. (Kinda comes with being agoraphobic. Meh.)

This is my first time entering Pitch Wars. Newbie me. In fact, I didn't discover it until just a week ago. It seemed like the thing to do. So I did it! Now my anxiety has anxiety. But it's good. I'm trying to get my baby out there. I know that someone is going to love it as much as me, and a couple of my betas.

Originally from Idaho, I earned two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of Idaho’s Creative Writing and Theater programs. I was awarded a silver key for a non-fiction piece in high school, but that is my only real claim to fame. I have been writing since I was old enough to write an illustrated ABC book. I still have it too!

I currently live in Kansas (Please don't ask me if I like it here, because I will have to lie, or be polite, or something equally distasteful.) with my Art Teacher husband and two cats, Ali and Bob the girl cat. (And I'm a fan of the Oxford comma.... just sayin'.)

I love to make 14th century period costumes, without patterns... Which I am told is a talent. I say meh. It's just sewing together a bunch of triangles and rectangles. So, straight lines. Easy-peasy. And I like to cosplay. My first was Rose Tyler from the "Tooth and Claw" episode of Dr. Who, and I'm currently working on a burlesque version of Poison Ivy.

I am inspired by Robert A. Heinlein’s Stranger in a Strange Land, Ursula LeGuin’s The Dispossessed, Orson Scott Card’s Ender’s Game and devour any kind of speculative fiction. But to say I'm only inspired by them is narrow and dumb because Shakespeare, Dickenson, Herbert, Sarte, Poe, and I'm only tip of the iceberg-ing it.

I started writing this manuscript eons ago as a fanfic p.o.s. and scrapped it. I don't know how many times I scrapped it. Then one day the main character spoke to me in this strange stilted voice, and I couldn't stop writing. I started her up again during NaNo 2015 and have been working on her since. She has been a struggle, but worth every heart-racing and breaking moment.

Other than that. I don't really have much to say. Good luck to all that come this way!

Oh... And I almost forgot the obligatory link back to the blog hop!
